It's my last day in this Apartment

YAY!!!!!!!!
SO this is a great apartment, don't get me wrong. I have a GREAT bathroom (little tear at losing that), a nice kitchen, great location, a fireplace, lots of space, and a nice closet .But that is where there really nice things end. Everything else, I am pretty psyched to leave.

The non-communicative roommate: I get the we all want our privacy, but acknowledging the person that you live with is customary. If ONE MORE PERSON takes the single thing (ie: ball of yarn, book, etc) and leave it in a pile on the counter I am going to SCREAM!!!!! My step mother did that while I was living there. Granted, when she did it, she was cleaning the entire kitchen. This one does it, and her crap is still all over. Oh, and let us not forget that she is very particular about the kitchen, but she will leave her crap all over. The worst one, oh this is gross, she comes home with left overs, and leaves them out on the counter instead of putting them in the fridge.

then of course there is the rabbit. I love animals, all animals, but this creature that gets into everything, including burrowing in my box spring. . . .. now that is a problem, and she finds it funny. hey, more power to you if it doesn't bother you that the rabbit has chewed up half of the molding in your house, and scratched up the doors to the point of ruining it. If that is what you want, thats fine. But keep the creature away from my stuff okay.

IT was convenient and affordable, but my very own apartment calls. Well first, it is off to PSF, but then I am living with people that I know and adore. People who will be nice to me, talk to me, watch movies with me, and at the same time, they will leave me alone when I have my door closed. That is great.

well, I have rambled. As of tomorrow I am in PA till August. Anyone who finds themself in the allentown or bethlehem area, look me up.

end of the semester, and some knitted goodness.

Well, I have lots of knitted things going on. Currently I have 2 projects on the needles. The wedding blanket for my cousin Alison (her wedding is in June so I am hoping that it will be done in tie for me to send it out to her. I do have to get more yarn, i will hopefully get that when I head to CT. So here is the afghan in progress

I also made a wallet for my new camera Pre Felting:

And Post Felting

It fits my camera perfectly now that it is Felted, so that makes me happy. Prior to felting it was too big.

And for the next project, I blame lime and violet completely for this one. I have started the chevron scarf from LMKG. I am using Girly Girl Yarn and size 3 needles.

I am hoping that this will become a very nice light scarf that I can use all year long. I love the colors. The yarn was given to me by
becca last year after I lost my wallet, for the second time. She rocks. Some day I will actually make the bag that she gave me last year for my birthday. I have everything I need to do it. . . . Just need to make things for me more often.
Classes are done YAY!!!!!! now I just have to get packed up and moved. My yarn stash fits in 2 large space saver bags, so the entire stash is coming with me for the summer. You heard me. The whole stash. I know, I am terrible. I just don't like being without it, and since it is managable, why not take the whole thing with me.
OOOOO, any other Gilmore girls fans out there. ABC family is doing a marathon on Sunday, and it is ALL JESS!!!!!!!!! The way it should be. while Logan is growing on me, I will always be a Jess.
okay, that it it for now.

The Passing of a Theatre Icon

Today marks the passing of a Theater icon. Kitty Carlise Hart
Ms Hart was a legend in the theatre world. I had the opportunity to see her perform her one woman show "My Wicked Life on the Stage" and it was so incredible. She was gracious, classy, beautiful, and just incredible. She as 96 years old. May all of us live our lives as full as hers.

I will post more about this week later.

luv to all.

knitterly pen pal coolness

So I have become a knitterly pen pal, which I have to say is very cool. I love getting mail, and I love writing letters. It is just great. Well, becca just got back from Ireland, and we were talking about her trip. I mentioned my pen pal, and wouldn't you know. WE managed to have a pen pal in common. This is so cool. I love it.

Hope all is well. This week has the potential to be a bit stressful, but I will fill you all in with the show as it goes on.

talk to you all soon.

I'm back

This week has been a bit hectic, but now I have some pictures to show. First things first, the Afghan is done. I get to give it to her next week when we get together. so here it is:

Here are some detail shots to show as well:

The color is pretty true, it is one of the encore Heather colors. I am really pleased. I actually cast on too many stitches, so it is actually too wide, bit I am still happy with it. This is the 4th of this pattern that I have done. I made one in green for Becca, one for My sister Rebecca, one for my cousin Sarah. I have already cast on the one for my cousin Alison.

I also have some very cute baby stuff to show

This is baby Michelle, She is about 7 weeks old, she was born a bit early so the hat is still a bit large on her. This is the pattern from LMKG it was made with farmhouse yarns

It is the silk spun cotton, they don't seem to have a link for it. I love working with this yarn, in fact I am making a pair of cargo

Other than that, things are really good. I got my grant done already, so that is a wonderful thing. I only have a little bit to fix. I also finished my Press release, and I know that is just fine.

Guess that's it for now, I have a bunch of shifts to work this weekend, which will come very much in handy for the beginning of the season in PA. Only two weeks left till I head back up to PA, and am out of my current living situation. I can't wait.

Be Nice to Me

So here is the deal everyone. If you can't give blood (and most of you can) then try to set up a blood drive at your school, work, church, knitting circle, it doesn't matter. A little back story, it occured to me this year just how important it is to give blood. When I was born, my mother was given a large blood tranfusion, something along the lines of 6 units of blood. She would not have survived if it weren't for blood donations.

Please, it only takes a little bit of time, and drinking some extra water during the day.

Another picture

Well, you were all warned. I actually didn't really mean to put that picture there yesterday. It was taken at Long Beach Island, NJ last
summer on just a beautiful day with my friend Maria. If you look very closely into the picture you can also see this:
It is just such a wonderful idea on a nice day isn't it? Can't you just feel the sand beneath your toes. The cool thing was that, although it probably happens more often than not, Maria had never seen anyone actually do this, for fear their shoes would get stolen probably. I thought it was great.

Camera as therapy. Try it, you would be amazed.

off to class.

Grrrrr classes

So a lot has changed in seven years, most importantly research. you are expected to search for everything on the Internet, and when I was in school if you showed up with something from the Internet you would be laughed at. So, unlike everyone else in my classes, when I find something on the Internet, i am hyper critical of the source and it's value. Why would I use a source that is 9 years old? come on people, that just makes since to me. But when my professor gives us a topics to research that is school organization, and leaves it at that, then is not there for the class when we next meet. . . . and I am actually going to ask a question along the lines of "what exactly do you mean by School organization?"

I know I am not actually expecting a response to this, I will find it, this is just venting. I have already contacted the professor to ask him for some assistance as to what he needs. IT doesn't exactly help when my advisor, and director of the show I am sm'ing, calls to tell me that her Father is in the hospital and she will most likely not be in class tomorrow, and I will have to run the rehearsal. That isn't a problem, I can certainly control that, but that the press is coming on Thursday. I don't do press well. I don't like press. So hopefully everything will be fine by them.

More pictures to post, when I am not writing a grant or doing an annotated bibliography, or putting cues into my script, or. . . . . well you get the point.

off to a leadership meeting.

show of hands

As I sit here watching Lewis Black (Really offensive comedy is a weakness of mine) I am weaving in yarn ends on an afghan. Not a baby afghan mind you, a really large full size bed afghan. So, show of hands. Who would pay large amounts of money to have this done for you. . . . . Yeah, yeah, yeah, besides the fact that it would take away from good yarn funds. put that aside. I see a wonderful money making opportunity for someone out there.

Any takers?

Flickr

This is a test post from flickr, a fancy photo sharing thing.

On The Needles

So I have one finished object, and one on the needles (okay, that doesn't count the afghans, and the calpotis that I have to Frog)

So, I got my camera yesterday (WEEEEEEEEEEE)

Here is the yarn. Is it from Farmhouse Yarns
I can't recall the name of the color, I know it is not wildflowers. I bought it at the barn sale, so it was unmarked. Next time (note to self) bring a note pad, and get all the color names and weights)

Here is is on the needles

I used size sevens. Nothing fancy

And here is it finished.

I will probably add a snap to it. Nothing fancy, Just something to keep it from getting scratched up.

I am also working on something that is SUPER cute

These are the Baby Cargo Pants from knitty

They are really easy, I would highly recommend them. I am just about done. I hope to have them done this weekend. They are for my friend who is due in July. I hope that they will be able to be worn into the fall.

Well, today I am off to work on my Grant for Theatre Management and my calling script for the Runaway bear. Then hopefully I will be able to get the rest of my journal done for Childrens' Theatre. It will be a lot of work, but I would really like to get all of it done today. I would like to take my camera out to play tomorrow. It is so nice to have it.

hope everyone has a blessed Easter.

my first post

so here it is. I have given in and now have a blog. There is a lot you will learn about me by reading this, so let me give you a few things so that you have been forewarned.

knitting: i am addicted, obsessed, and fully willing to admit it.I love to knit. I makes me happy, it thrills me, it calms me, it excites me. crazy huh.

church: I am a re-newed catholic. I have been away from the church for a long time, doubting my faith and everything that came along with it. I have no welcomed it into my life with open arms. It is a bit strange for me, but I am enjoying it.

cooking. Love it. I love to cook all sorts of things (but I refuse to make green bean casserole, I hate the stuff). I will admit and I will get into food ruts and eat the same food for about a week at a time (quesadillas and yogurt, I could live on the stuff)

food in general: I love food. I love all food, i love to eat drink and be merry.

friends: my friends are my rocks. there are a few in particular that have seen me through so many things. I love them dearly, and am not quite sure where I would be without them

photography: I am heading out to get my new digital camera. I know finances are not great, I but I have been looking into this purchase for a long time. I want one, and I am getting it. You will see a wonderful photo journal of my life. I look forward to sharing my love of photography with you all.

family: I love them. I love them with all of my heart. I share their sadness, i rejoice in their victories, and I accept them with all of the quirks that come with them. I hope that they think the same of me.

Theater: It is my love, my passion, and my life. I cannot see myself in any other career, I love it.

Teaching: Everything in life is turning into a lesson plan. I see them in everything. I am currently back in school (at age 31) to get my teaching license in (insert surprised face here) theatre. I can't wait to be in the classroom

okay, so those are the major spots in my life that you need to know. I do hope that you enjoy this blog. I hope to share more with you all.
