My cat, the escape artist.

So I went out early this morning to head to church. We had a long service today and a picnic after, so it was a few hours before I got home. When I arrived home the back door was opened, and Hagrid was gone. I was a wreck. I was so upset (those of you that don't know, Hagrid has FIV while he is completely healthy he really should not be out loose, it was also 90 degrees and he had no water)

So I walked around the aprtment complex a bit, and started putting up signs. I was so upset. I sat down to print up some more signs and from next to me I hear a VERY loud MEOW. He had come back.

Oh, when I say that the door was opened. It was closed before (not bolted but closed) this cat opened a door and then jumped a 6 foot fence. Oh, and is it an easy door to open, No. . he had to turn a knob!!!!!
This is him after he stopped panting. and I mean literally toungue hanging out of mouth panting. poor cat. he also smells like potting soil so he was digging in something. This cat can't be replaced, he is just too cool. I was a big old puddle of mess for about an hour till he came back home.

In knitting news:
I cast on the Central Park Hoodie on Friday, and all I did yesterday was knit. It was a great day. Here is a picture of it from yesterday

Oh, and in case the cat was blocking your view, here it is again.

If you are thinking of this sweater even as a maybe, just do it. It is so easy. Mind you, I haven't picked up any stitches yet, but I am thinking I can manage. I am really excited about this sweater. I am knitting it in one piece instead of 3. I also plan to do the sleeves wrist up in one piece. I think I am most excited about having a sweater that will actually FIT!!!! I cast on the large because I was just a bit bigger than the medium. BUT, I will be doing everything just a little bi shorter (I have short arms and short torso, really just short everything)

It is so great. If I was ever going to gift a sweater, this would be it because of the ease of it.

Kay, guess that is it for now. Oh, and who is on plurk, my new addiction. Seriously, it is bad.

Okay, so interestingly enough this is post #100 for me. Pretty cool. To think, 100 posts ago I was merely a novice blogger. Now I am on my second post of the day, on ravelry, and even plurking. Thisis cool stuff.

So here is my soapbox for my 100th post. I don't want children, love them, spoil them, teach them, don't want them. I have two sisters. One who is expecting right now after a year of painful (both emotionally and physically) treatments, and I have another sister who is paying out of pocket because the health insurance companies (or some other stupid person) doesn't think they should help her become a mother. Now we have these IDOIOT children getting pregnant as a pact.

Just because jamie lynn is doing it, just because you watched Juno, just because you want a bump. . No, that is not a reason to have a kid. Want something that will love you unconditionally, get a cat. Not even a dog, jsut a cat. They love you, and you still get to clean up their dirty littler boxes. Once you can care for a cat, then get a dog, then. . and maybe then. . . You can have a kid. CArrying an egg around school does not mean you can be a parent.

And school OPEN YOUR EYES you have a problem. Ignore the parents and what they ahve to say, you have to start dealing with this issues. and Parents. START PARENTING.

This is insane.

Sorry, this is crazy.

A Happy Birthday WIsh

Well if you know her, then it is time to wish her a happy 30th birthday!!!
Today is nutmegknitters special day. I am happy to say I have known her for almost 15 years, can you believe it. I know that I can't! She is an amazing person to know, one of the most honest, humble, and patient people that I have ever met.

Enjoy your day, welcome to being 30.

Here's to 50 more years.

my wake up call

GRRRRRRR my poor car got a boo boo, and no I didn't do it. It was parked at the apartment and someone backed into it.

The kind of funny part is he left the note with his insurance info on his intro to theatre syllabus.
Nothing really new going on here, just having a lot of really freaky dreams. When I say freaky, I mean really weird. Not really sure what is up, but it is strange. I don't normally have dreams like that, I don't usually remember them even, but this week I have.

Guess who found her card reader

Well that would be ME!!!! I got back to work today, and SO don't want to be here. Every time I get to spend time with my friends I never want to come back to reality. But what to blog about. . . . hmmmm. . . well how about knit happens What a fantastic store. Becca and I headed out there.
While on our way we decided that loopy should make an appearance.

She just made a purchase, so like a good little soon to be loopy groupie, she started taking pictures of loopy on
her trip. This is loopy on the train to Alexandria.
Then we got to Knit Happens. If you are in the DC Area, just go. You can thank me for it later.
I had been working on my swatch for my central park hoodie during the weekend, and was having lots of trouble (no pics, it was too embarrassing) So when I got to the store I asked
dreadpiratekel and knitgirl for help. For about 7 years I have been knitting, I have been wrapping my yarn incorrectly the entire time. I can't BELIEVE how much my knitting has improved. It looks so much better. Thanks to both of them for their help, and for being so great about it. I wasn't knitting "wrong" I was "inventing my own stitch pattern"

Of course I had to shop, DUH!!! I have pics of one of the yarns.

I don't have the details, I am so sorry. But I think it is going to become monkeys!!!!! We shall see. I will post details on the yarn, So sorry to forget it. I will say it is a local dyer to DC. So many great local colors in this shop. I also got a FABULOUS red yarn. It is a 50/50 acrylic nylon. So nice, it is going to become a baby bolero for cousin S who is due in October.

More blogging this week, I have FO's, more pictures, and all sorts of stuff. Also look for an updated 101., it has gone by the wayside a bit.

Look at me, knitting in public. And with Loopy!!! nutmegknitter and I were in DC for a baby shower. We took this at breakfast at the Residence Inn. We had a great DAy. I will post pictures later. a HUGE thanks you to the girls at Knit Happens. They advised me on what I was doing wrong 9or in more positive terms they let me know how I was inventing a new stitch) This has changed so much about my knitting!!!!! I am working on my swatch for Central Park Hoodie in hopes of casting it on this week.

I will hopefully be able to upload pics when I get to work tomorrow. It is a long week with Vacation Bible School and Work. Oh yes work.

I am still at the hotel, enjoying the fact that I am not at home. Being with friends and family just makes me realize that I want to be closer to them.

Okay, sappy stuff over. Happy Father's Day to all.

I hit the road in a couple of hours.

I would post pictures, but I don't know if they would read. I would post smells if I could.

We are currently in a smoke advisory. It smells like a campfire at my work.

YAY DC

So okay, I am a complete idiot. I just sent off the petal bib and baby einstein burp rag to Charlotte, and I didn't take pictures. Oh wait, bybe I do. I think I just forgot my camera cable again. YAY!!!!

Okay, so since I am getting ready to head off to DC to see the girls this weekend I give you one of my favorite songs that always makes me think of my friends.

No, not going to see these girls (though I would LOVE to see them). But I am seeing the others.
Another baby shower, pretty much my lot in life.

the decision is not to decide. . . . .

Okay, so lots of updates. . . . . here it goes. . . . .

Knitting:
Things are going well. I just finished the petal bib. That was harder than it looked. I am going to make another. I may also play with the pattern a bit. I don't have pictures today. I made it with varigated pink, brown, and white sugar n cream and dark brown for the strap. OH so cute. I am right now making a baby einstein burp cloth using hte same pattern. It looks great, I just love it. Going to send that off to cousin A for Miss Charlotte.

I still have a blanket going for Victory Junction, that is a big one, and it is on the list to get finished. I keep running out of yarn.

Bookmarks galore. I am making them for Miss J's baby shower next week. i think i have all of htem done, just have to block them.

Reading:
I am currently reading little women. I never read it as a kid, and I am reading it now, it is great. I am really enjoying it.

movies:
Finally saw Juno. It was great. I re-watched sex and the city season 3 (so that I can give it to piccolo girl next week) I am holding off on seeing the movie till next weekend when I get to see it with the girls. Can't wait.

Work:
Well, that is what the subject line is referring to. I have decided not to make any decisions hastily. My sister has offered me a room in her apartment in Boston. I am looking at jobs up there. I know how much fun it would be to live in Boston, seriously I know. Especially since there is very little to do down here. Though living in Boston (even with my sister) is substantially more expensive. I am getting ready to fill out my application to be a teaching assistant down here. Not a whole lot of money, BUT it is more than I am making where I am working now. It will also give me the opportunity to work with children and really get a feel for it. here I am , a person who wants to have their own children's theatre and I have never really had significant experience working with them.

I am taking a wonderful online class on How to write a business plan. It is going well. The instructor is fantastic. She also teaches a course on writing for children, and I definitely think I am going to take that course next.

So, that is it. Sorry no pics today. I forgot my cable to upload the pictures of the petal bib. I will try to remember tomorrow I promise.

Thank you Dear Car

While you lack power windows, and you seem to not allow me to go over 65 miles per hour with the air conditioning on. I would like to take this moment to thank you. Thank you dear car for getting 32 miles to the gallon. It makes having to spend $42 to fill you ith gas today far more worthwhile. And, while I was clearly an idiot and did not notice the $3.88 per gallon gas and I spent $3.95 instead that is far from your fault.

Also little car, whom I haven't really cleaned out in weeks, thank you for sharing the missing change with me today. The missing change that has probably been rolling around in my car for months. The missing change that today allowed me to get an ice cream (which also made the spending $42 on gas today a little better.)

Little car you deserve special treatment, while I cannot afford the fancy car wash (have you been listening to everything I have said about the price of Gas) This weekend you will get cleaned out. That is right. Because it was quite fascinating today to find cat food in my car. Would you like to know the last time Hagrid was in the car, that is right. . . you remember that terrible trip home from christmas where he cried the entire time.

SO car, I thank you. You are too good to me . We had a rough patch there for a couple of months, but we got through it.
